Questions About Guardianship? Trainings Start in February!
Guardianship and Options When a Person Turns 18:
Guardianship and Options When a Person Turns 18 is a two-part series co-sponsored by The Arc-Jefferson, Clear Creek & Gilpin Counties and the Developmental Disabilities Resource Center (DDRC).
Part 1 of the series will be held Tuesday, February 13 from 4 to 6 PM. This session is a panel discussion to learn all about guardianship and answer your questions about available alternatives, responsibilities and what guardianship means for a person with disabilities.
Part 2 of the series will be held Tuesday, February 27 from 4 to 6 PM. This session will be a workshop where all guardianship paperwork required by law will be provided, with step-by-step instructions on completing these forms. A minimum of 4 registrants is required for this class to be held. Note: Participants must attend Part 1 of the training to attend Part 2.
New! Plan for the Future for a Person with Disabilities:
Perhaps you've heard how people lose their Medicaid funding and DDRC’s programs if you do not make good long-term plans for a person with disabilities. Learn how to do a Special Needs Trust to protect resources. Learn about ABLE Accounts and how to use both ABLE and/or Special Needs Trusts. Understand the importance of beneficiary designations. Learn how people with disabilities and their families buy homes on the open market—more than 2,000 have already done so. This class will be held Tuesday, February 20, from 4 to 6 PM.
All trainings will be held at DDRC, located at 11177 W. 8th Ave in Lakewood.
Space is limited. RSVP required for all classes. To RSVP, please call Megan Martin at (303) 462-6590. To learn more about upcoming guardianship trainings, click here.
