 | Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders officially proclaimed October as Economic Education Month, recognizing the importance of financial and economic literacy for students across the state!
The Bessie Brigade went on the road this month, surprising educators whose creative classroom projects brought economics to life in meaningful ways. From second graders in Mena learning to run businesses in Open for Business to Fort Smith students hosting a lemonade sale that raised $1,100 for their local food bank, teachers proved that economics is everywhere.
Winners were also celebrated in Amity, Rogers, and Berryville for lessons in entrepreneurship, trade, and innovation - from Globalization Trade Game to Gummy Biz Kids and So You Want to Start a Business. Each awardee received $1,000 and a basket of goodies for their outstanding work.
These educators and students embodied #EconEdMonth, connecting real-world learning to future-ready skills.
