Grateful for You: Reflecting on 2025
-By Mindy, Executive Director
|
As this year comes to a close, I find myself thinking about the many hands that have held a Bag It Bag, the conversations sparked by our resources, and the moments when someone realizes they are not facing cancer alone. Those stories stay with me. They remind me why this work matters—and how grateful I am for this community.
In 2025, we reached more patients and caregivers than ever before, strengthened our relationships with healthcare providers, expanded our offerings with new cancer-specific bags to better meet the diverse needs of those navigating a diagnosis. Each step forward has been made possible because so many of you believe in the importance of empowering people with knowledge, support, and guidance during one of the hardest times in their lives. We truly couldn’t do this without you.
As you look ahead to the new year, we hope you’ll keep Bag It in mind. If someone in your life is facing a new cancer diagnosis—or if you want these resources for yourself—you can order a bag directly from us. And if you’re considering a year-end gift, your support helps ensure we can continue providing these tools to those who need them most. Monthly gifts, no matter the size, make a steady and meaningful impact all year long.
Thank you for being part of the Bag It community and for helping create moments of comfort, clarity, and hope. We look forward to all we can accomplish together in 2026.

Making A Difference |

Bag It's Impact on Claire Claire shared her story at Breakfast with Bag It 2025. Here is a snippet of her story. Thank you Claire and continued positive vibes for clean scans and good health.
Claire & her daughter, almost 3 years post diagnosis!
“My name is Claire and I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021. I have a very strong family history with my mom, her sister, and her mother all having had breast cancer. I’ve been getting routine screenings for years, but I was still surprised to get the cancer news. At 42, I was now the youngest in my family to get the diagnosis. Good news was, we thought we caught it early. But surgery told a different story and what was supposed to be a few months of treatment turned into 15 months of surgery, chemo, more surgery, and radiation. It felt scary and confusing. How had it progressed so quickly having only missed one year of screenings during 2020 because of the pandemic? I was given a Bag It bag from a friend about 4 months into my journey and I found the resources included to be very helpful. I especially appreciated the nutrition information as it felt like one thing I could control. The binder also became a key tool to organize all the test results and information I was being given. Over time the bag itself became my easy access storage place for all things cancer related.
I greatly appreciate the work Bag It is doing and this year I bought two bags for other people who received cancer diagnoses. I know it is one way to support someone else’s cancer journey.” |
