Spring always brings warmer weather and a feeling of optimism. As we near our 20th anniversary celebration later this month and look to IAALS’ future and the future of our justice system, we feel that optimism at IAALS. Elisa “Emo” Overall, the 2026 Alli Gerkman Legal Visionary Award recipient who will be honored at the Annual Rebuilding Justice Award Dinner, recently shared more about her passion for access to justice, representing system users, and what it means to receive this award. You will quickly see what an energetic and dedicated leader Emo is.
IAALS founder Rebecca Love Kourlis wrote about what makes IAALS uniquely qualified to respond to the current issues facing the justice system. IAALS has remained an unwavering force of innovation since 2006. The challenges facing us have changed, but our dedication to fixing them has not.
Two decades of convening leaders and experts to build solutions that improve our civil justice system doesn’t happen without countless supporters standing behind us. Join us in celebrating those who got us here and help lead what comes next in civil justice reform.
