This month, I joined leaders from more than 100 countries at the World Justice Forum in Warsaw, Poland. We were united by a shared goal: standing up for the rule of law and delivering on the promise of justice. The Forum highlighted the erosion of the rule of law around the world, with data from the World Justice Project and personal experiences from leaders and changemakers. The Forum also provided an opportunity to gather as a global coalition to reverse these trends, safeguard civic space, and support an ecosystem to strengthen the rule of law. At the end of the Forum, the Warsaw Principles for the Rule of Law were launched, which provide a critical framework that can ground this work and inspire us all to action. I look forward to sharing more on the Forum in a post later this month.
That spirit of gathering and collaboration mirrors how we work at IAALS. And these principles deeply resonate with the work we are doing at IAALS to unlock innovations that make the civil justice system more just. The global urgency I witnessed reaffirmed the power of our approach and our work—and the responsibility we carry to keep pushing forward.
