At the heart of IAALS’ mission are people. Whether you are seeking justice or working tirelessly to deliver it, our work is focused on making that journey more accessible, more effective, and more human-centered.
In recent months, that commitment has taken on renewed urgency. Judge Jeremy Fogel recently shared an important perspective on the increasing attacks on judges and court staff, and I look forward to speaking with him on the importance of the rule of law next week at the National Association for Court Management conference. If we want to preserve public trust in our institutions, we must stand behind those who uphold them every day.
At the same time, we continue advancing practical solutions to expand access. In this issue, our experts examine Colorado’s new non-prosecution policy, which deprioritizes criminal prosecution of unauthorized practice of law in certain cases involving technology-enabled tools—a significant step toward responsibly broadening access while maintaining consumer safeguards.
We are also just weeks away from our 20th Anniversary Forum on Innovation and Impact and Rebuilding Justice Award Dinner. In this landmark year, we are doing what is fundamental to our work and impact—convening leaders from across the country to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships, and move from conversation to action.
The future of civil justice will be shaped by those who show up to do the work. Join us in April and be a part of what comes next.
