Phone-based Support Services for People in Pain
Pain BC's two main support services are Connect for Health and Coaching for Health.
Our Connect for Health program provides free, non-medical phone support to people in pain. Common issues include housing, disability, employment, food security, child care, and isolation to name a few.
Our Coaching for Health program is a referral-based program specifically for individuals 18+ years of age, who have been living with pain for at least 6 months. Opportunity for Feedback: Revised CPSBC Standard
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC (CPSBC) recently revised their Standard on the Safe Prescribing of Opioids and Sedatives. Since the revised Standard does not set limits or absolutes around any aspect of prescribing, we are hopeful that it will encourage physicians to use an individualized approach when treating patients who may require opioids to manage their pain.
CPSBC is now accepting feedback from the public on the revision and we encourage people living with pain to read the revised Standard and submit their feedback to the College.
