September 2025
Educating students and communities about the connections
between the ocean, inland water, and economy of Maine.

Sarah Oktay, PhD, Herring Gut Coastal Science Center's Executive Director, is a member of a working group organized between South Thomaston and St. George. Members of their respective Coastal Resilience Committees have organized two forum opportunities to contribute to the Community Action Plan for Climate Resiliency.

Go to
coastalresilient.com to learn more about the plan and visit the Discussion Forum to be seen and be heard! The development of the plan is funded through a Community Action Grant from the Governor’s Office of Policy Innovation and the Future.

Herring Gut is a partner in these community efforts and Dr. Sarah Oktay is a contributing member of the St. George Coastal Resiliency Committee as an ad-hoc member to provide advice drawing on her background in coastal processes and chemical oceanography.

Child care and refreshments provided. We hope you can attend! To assist with planning, kindly RSVP below.
