In July, we are having some fun on Canada Day as we celebrate Canadian wildlife (beavers, moose and a goose). We are also hosting some movie nights at the Centre theatre on July 23rd and August 13th where we will screen fun nature related movies (with popcorn of course!). Another fun event on the agenda this summer is a Sunrise Paddle, offered on four different occasions (July 11th & 25th and August 7th and 21st), where you will glide through the ponds on canoe with a Naturalist, enjoying the serenity and views.
If you have a keen budding Naturalist at home between the ages of 6 and 13, sign them up for our week long Jr. Naturalist summer day camps in July. These programs are well attended, so book now to reserve a spot (some sessions are now full!). Dates and times for the programs can be found here.
And…if you have a teen aged 14-16 at home this summer that is wondering what to do…we have a Teen Steward Program in August that they can take part in. Contact us for details and to register (250 402 6908).

Volunteers Wanted!
Come and be a part of an innovative research project to treat yellow flag iris infestations using rubber membranes and help reduce the threat of this high priority invasive species from entering Kootenay Lake. The main project goal is to determine how effective the membranes are to control and/or eradicate current yellow flag iris infestations. We need your help to install the barriers, following the protocol developed by Thompson Rivers University, and of clipping flower heads and pods.
Meet at the Wildlife Centre on Saturday July 4th from 10 am to 1 pm.

If you are fishing on Duck Lake or other waterways in the CVWMA, you need to purchase a permit from the CVWMA. They can be obtained online or in person at the Administration Building or Wildlife Centre.
