The good news is that there are about 17 million cancer survivors alive today in the United States. Better yet is the fact that there are so many long-term survivors (5 years or more after treatment). While some are able to manage the uncertainties and challenges of life brought on by cancer fairly well, for others the impacts on their physical, emotional, or even financial well-being are felt throughout survivorship. It’s never too late to ask for help or seek ongoing support to ease cancer’s lingering burdens and improve one’s quality of life.
Quarterly Feedback Drawing Deadline Give you feedback by June 30 and you will be entered into the quarterly drawing for a $25 Amazon gift card. Your feedback helps us learn about your experience with the bag as a patient and/or a caregiver, the issues you care about, and how we can continue improving the bag.
Every day we recognize that it is extremely important to celebrate the life of each cancer survivor. On National Cancer Survivors DayⓇ we are reminded to join together and celebrate those who have survived, inspire those recently diagnosed, support families, and reach out to the community as a whole.
On Sunday June 6th, Bag It hosted a Survivors Day breakfast & presentation to celebrate survivors of the Bag It family. Prior to the virtual presentation for those across the country we started the morning locally by delivering breakfasts to friends in Phoenix and with a fabulous drive-thru breakfast in Tucson donated by Scratching The Plate. Survivors were able to pick up some Bag It swag and have a photo op with the Royal International Miss Arizona Teen.
It was such a wonderful opportunity to celebrate with our Bag It recipients both virtually and in person!
Make a Difference
A huge thank you to all that contributed in honor of survivors on Sunday, June 5. Together we raised over $1,300! A special thank you toAZ Litho who matched the first $500 in gifts making your impact go even further. Woohoo!
We invite you to make a gift to Bag It in celebration of survivorship this month. Your gift will ensure everyone who is diagnosed with cancer will be provided a resource of educational materials and support tips to guide patients and caregivers from the time of diagnosis, to treatment, to survivorship, and beyond.
Bag It Educates, Supports, and Empowers those impacted by cancer. We help patients, caregivers, and cancer advocates to Fight the Fear of Cancer through our two key programs: the Bag It bag and Escape to THRIVE. The bag helps anyone with any type of cancer to cope with their diagnosis and become active members of their treatment team. Escape to THRIVE is a national leadership conference to support cancer advocates.
