The ‘Multiplication Effect’ of a Scholar in the Philippines
Beatrice Ang, who graduated from Edinburgh University with a PhD this summer, is a great example of the ‘multiplication effect' of the Langham Scholars programme. She is currently teaching more than 20 students back home in the Philippines, who are hoping to lead churches, Bible colleges and denominations in the future. The ripples of just one PhD grow and grow, building God’s kingdom!

Simon Foulds, LPUKI’s Development Manager, caught up with Beatrice recently to find out how she’s settling in. Watch the interview online.

New Langham Book Shares Fresh Way to Shape Sermons
God is in the House by John Woods
Good preaching is not simply a matter of communicating the gospel message. Rather, it is an invitation to encounter the living God who dwells within that message.

Earlier this year, Langham Publishing released 'God Is in the House' by Dr John Woods as a highly practical tool for all those seeking to strengthen their preaching.

Dr Woods has been training preachers in Eastern Europe since the early 90s and this book encapsulates his years of experience. He draws on Scripture’s many images of God as architect and builder to guide its readers through the process of shaping effective sermons.

Read more from Dr Woods about the development of his book on Langham Literature’s website.

Please Pray Although we don't hold a Langham Live event during December, please continue to pray for the work of Langham Partnership. Thank you.

God willing, we will reconvene at the end of January 2023.

Dear

Christmas Greetings AD2022. I recalled the words of the Bidding Prayer created for the first service of ‘Nine Lessons with Carols’ from Kings College, Cambridge in 1918. I offer these as a common focus for all our Langham Family and Friends:

Beloved in Christ, be it this Christmastide our care and delight to hear again the message of the angels, and in heart and mind to go even unto Bethlehem and see this thing which is come to pass, and the Babe lying in a manger.

Therefore let us read and mark in Holy Scripture the tale of the loving purposes of God from the first days of our disobedience unto the glorious redemption brought us by this Holy Child.

But first, let us pray for the needs of the whole world; for peace on earth and goodwill among all his people; for unity and brotherhood within the Church he came to build…

And because this of all things would rejoice his heart, let us remember, in his name, the poor and helpless, the cold, the hungry and the oppressed; the sick and them that mourn, the lonely and the unloved, the aged and the little children; all those who know not the Lord Jesus, or who love him not, or who by sin have grieved his heart of love.

Lastly, let us remember before God all those who rejoice with us, but upon another shore, and in a greater light, that multitude which no man can number, whose hope was in the Word made flesh, and with whom in the Lord Jesus we are for ever one.
These prayers and praises let us humbly offer up to the throne of heaven…

With thankfulness for your support and Christian greetings, as ever
