Dear ,

Fr. Philip Sosa, MSF - Provincial Superior
Before we preview the month of June, please remember that the Holy Mass is about the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ, and offering a Mass has infinite value. If you have any special intentions for the living or the deceased, feel free to send us your Mass Requests.

Where has the time gone? The year is almost half over, and many things are happening in our world. We need to take a breath and reflect. We are called to concentrate on life, this precious, unique, and unrepeatable life that is a gracious gift from God. We need to live as fully, as lovingly, and as joyfully as we can. As summertime begins, it gives us opportunities with upcoming celebrations.

Sunday, June 7: Corpus Christi Sunday. On this solemnity, we profess what we believe and celebrate at every Mass: the simple, ordinary gifts of bread and wine are transformed, by the power of the Holy Spirit, into our Lord’s Real Presence. When we partake of the Eucharist, Jesus remains with us. Let us pray that we may be more aware of this presence so we can proclaim this truth to others. For great books about our Faith to read this summer, please browse the many resources available through Ignatius Press and on our website.

Friday June 12: Sacred Heart of Jesus. This solemnity embodies the extravagant love Jesus has for us. Devotion to the Sacred Heart is a relationship to the person of Jesus Christ and His redeeming love, revealed by His Sacred Heart. NOTE: The U.S. Bishops will have a National Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on Thursday, June 11, at 3:00 p.m. Central Time at the Mary, Queen of the Universe Basilica in Orlando, Florida. It will be live streamed via youtube.com/@usccborg/streams.

Saturday, June 13: Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This feast is a sign of her compassion and sinlessness and an object of devotion by the faithful. Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary gained international prominence through the Fatima apparitions in 1917 and subsequent approval by the Holy See.

Sunday, June 21: Father’s Day. Honoring our fathers, living and deceased, we pray they will reflect the love our Heavenly Father has for His children and remember the impact they have made in our lives. In this Month of the Sacred Heart, please consider enrolling your loved ones, especially your fathers and grandfathers, into our Perpetual Mass Association.

Wednesday, June 24: Nativity of Saint John the Baptist. Like John the Baptist, each of us is called by God from birth to serve a unique role in God’s plan of salvation.

Monday, June 29: Saint Peter and Saint Paul. We hold these two up together as pivotal leaders of our faith. Their journeys are very different, but both were crucial in the early Church for the faith to take root and spread throughout the world. May we follow their example of trusting in the Lord, who will give us more strength than we can imagine.

Thank you for everything! Please have a relaxed and happy summer filled with many blessings. +JMJ+
