We hope this email finds you well, enjoying the onset of Fall.
 
We just wanted to share a few updates with you from the Wildlife Centre and also share some info on bats.  We hope you enjoy the read!

Wildlife Centre Fall Hours and Days Closed
 
The Wildlife Interpretation Centre will be open this fall from Tuesday to Saturday until October 10th.
 
Please note that there are a few days coming up when the Centre will be closed during this period...they are:
September 24th, 25th, 29th and 30th.  We apologize for any inconvenience.  Trails are still open 24/7 and maps are available outside the Centre.
 
BC River's Day Paddle at CVWMA Cancelled...

We are sorry, but we have to cancel the upcoming scheduled BC River's Day Paddle on Sunday September 27th due to unforeseen circumstances.
 
We encourage people to get out and celebrate the beauty and power of our rivers by doing a paddle, shoreline cleanup up or river walk.  There are many ways to pay homage to a local river!

Getting Batty

Bats can be found wherever suitable roosting (sleeping) and foraging (eating) habitat is relatively close together. All parts of BC have bats, minus high elevation, snowy, cold alpine sites. BC has the greatest diversity of bats than any province with at least 16 recorded species. Bats in BC eat small insects (mosquitoes, June bugs, stinkbugs, moths, etc…) and a lot of them…a bat will eat an estimated 600 mosquito sized insects in an hour!

Wildlife Centre Fall Hours
 
We are open Tuesday - Saturday from 9am to 4pm.  Last day open is October 10th!

Permits Required
 
If you are hunting and/or fishing at the CVWMA, you will need to acquire a permit.  Permits can be obtained online on our website or in person at the Administration Building or Wildlife Centre when open.
