We opened the doors on May 9th this season. We will be open Monday to Saturday in May and June (and then seven days a week in July and August).
We will be Shell-e-brating Turtles on Friday May 29th and Saturday May 30th. In partnership with the Cental Kootenay Invasive Plant Committee, VAST Resource Solutions and the Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program - Columbia Region, we will be hosting a community weed pull, presentation by researchers and fun activities, crafts and games for the whole family to enjoy. The Kootenay Community Bat Project is offering a Bat Count Workshop at the Wildlife Interpretation Centre on Thursday June 4th from 8:30-10:30 pm. See a local bat colony and become trained as a Citizen Scientist. Come and learn more about bat ecology and conservation and how to conduct an Annual Bat Count to monitor bat populations.
